Bluestem Book

Award

This award is named in honor of Big Bluestem, which is the Illinois prairie grass.  The award is designed for students in grades 3-5 and may include both classics and current titles, as well as books that have appeared on Monarch and Rebecca Caudill lists.   Students must read, or have read to them, four of the 20 nominated books in order to vote in February.   In L.C.S.

these books will only be offerd to grades 4-5.  Grade 3 will read the Monarch books.
