Mrs. Frump's 5th Grade News

            Plans for the week of February 6 - 10:

Spelling: Unit 22 test will be Wednesday.  There are challenge words.

Bible: We will be making posters illustrating some of Jesus's miracles and presenting the stories to the class.   Matthew 5:1-5 must be said by Wednesday.

Math: We will learn to add and subtract fractions.   Please practice all facts. 

Reading: Our skills this week will be word relationships, fact/opinion, figurative language and summarizing.  We will read "Satchmo's Blues" and "Evelyn Cisneros."

Language: We will write a "fractured fairy tale" for our Young Authors book.  Watch for details about typing these at home.   We will also have a DOL quiz on Friday.  

Science: We are studying water on the earth.

iMisc.: Book-It will be due February 28. This month's goal will again be 200 pages.  They may choose to read science fiction, fantasy or poetry.
