It is my privilege to be the Junior High Music teacher here at Lansing Christian School.I love and serve our Lord Jesus Christ, and see my teaching here as a way to serve God and His Kingdom. I love teaching, love music, and love children, so I very much enjoy being here. This is my fifteenth year here at Lansing Christian School. I attended Dordt College for three years, and then finished my Bachelor of Music Education degree at North Park College (now University). I am also a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music through the Music Teachers National Association. I enjoy using my musical skills at Lansing Christian School, and also in my home church, Oak Glen United Reformed Church. There I am able to play the piano, sing, and direct our church choir. In my home, I maintain a small studio of piano students, and thoroughly enjoy nurturing these children and adults in their pianistic skills. I am married and have four children, all of whom attended Lansing Christian School. I consider it a great blessing to have been their music teacher while they were students here, and also a blessing that I got to teach piano lessons to all four of them. All four children have stayed active in music, and two have chosen to be music majors in college. Though my professional focus is in music, I also enjoy several other hobbies. I am pretty passionate about running, and you may frequently see me running down Ridge Road in the morning hours. I also enjoy weightlifting, biking and swimming. I also take pleasure in taking pictures and then preserving those photos in scrapbooks. |
