FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Q:  What are the grade levels at LCS?

A:  Lansing Christian School provides classes for students in Pre-K (age 4 by Sept. 1) through 8th 
     grades.

Q:  Is there before and/or after school care?

A:  Yes.  LCS offers before and/or after school care for all LCS students. The hours of operation are
     6:30-8:45 a.m. & 3:30-6:00 pm. Cost per hour is $4.50 for 1 student, $6.75 for 2 students; $9
     for 3 or more students
(Charges will be calculated based on 15 minute increments.)


Q:  What are the tuition and fees?

A:  There is a $100 per family registration fee and an optional milk fee of $10 per student in grades
     1-8 and $6 for 3 full-day Kindergarten. Click here for more details.

Q:  Do you offer bus transportation?

A:  Yes.  LCS does offer bus transportation. One way and round trip options are available.
     Please contact the school for more details.

Q:  What about students with learning difficulties?

A:  The Discovery Center at LCS provides academic support services for students with learning
     difficulties in grades Kindergarten through 8 in the areas of reading, language, math, grammar
     and spelling.  The Discovery Center is also a resource to the classroom teachers, offering
     intervention strategies to help children in the regular classroom. Testing is available to help
     place students at the appropriate levels.

Q:  Are school uniforms required for students?

A:  Uniforms are not required at LCS. However, students' attire should conform to the Christian
     principles of moderation and appropriateness

Q:  How large are the class sizes?

A:  Currently our class sizes range between fourteen to twenty-five students.

Q:   Are there fine arts and extra-curricular  activities?

A:   Yes. Students are able to participate in a wide variety of extra-curricular activities and fine arts
      programs.  Our interscholastic athletic activities include track and field, soccer, volleyball,
      basketball, cheerleading and running club.  Our fine arts program includes spanish, instrumental
      and vocal music, art and science fairs, language arts, math, and science Olympiads, spelling
      contests, school plays, young authors activities, as well as a variety of activity clubs.
